Insulated Socket Sets
Insulated socket sets are also be known as 'VDE socket sets' and include an array of socket sizes that are designed to protect the operator when they are working on live electrical equipment, up to 1000V (always check the electrical rating of a socket before use).
The insulation that protects the operator has a coloured skin, which indicates whether the socket is fully insulated or compromised.
An insulated socket set is normally found in an electrians tool box, to protect them when they are tightening or untightening bolts on potentially live electrical equipment. For full protection when using an insulated socket, always ensure the hand tool attached to it is insulated as well, such as an insulated ratchet wrench or insulated extension bar.
