Pad Savers and Interfaces
A pad saver is placed between a backing pad and a sanding disc on a powered sanding tool to protect the backing pad, by absorbing some of the heat and vibration that is created when sanding vigorously.
Pad savers are inexpensive compared to backing pads and the pad saver is designed to be a sacrificial layer of the sanding tool, to essentially lengthen the lifespan of the backing pad, which helps to protect the sander.
