Hex Bit Socket Sets
Hex end socket sets are also known as 'hex bit socket sets' and they contain an array of sockets that have six straight sides, which are used to fasten/unfasten bolts and screws that have a hex shape in the centre of their head. Hex end sockets are used with a hand tool such a torque wrench, ratchet or sliding t-handle to provide leverage and they connect to each other via a square drive.
When hex end sockets are used with an aforementioned hand tool they are generally more comfortable to use than an Allen key or hex key, and are also more robust, which is why hex end socket sets can be found in garages used by mechanics, as well as by DIYers for jobs around the house.
