A run down adapter can also be known as a 'joint simulator' and is mounted in-line between the powered torque tool and torque analyser or torque sensor to measure the output of powered torque tools, like an electric torque screwdriver.
The run down fixture is designed to create 'real world' environments, simulating the peaks and troughs of resistance a screw fastening could create until the powered torque tool reaches its set torque.
