Forked Cable Lugs
A forked cable lug is also known as a 'spade terminal' or 'fork terminal' and is an electrical connector with a two-pronged, U-shaped palm and a tubular barrel that is used to terminate a cable onto connection points such as studs, screw terminals and busbars.
Forked cable lugs allow the operator to connect the lug to the terminal quickly, as the fork-shaped palm can slide under the fixing without the bolt being fully removed, making it useful where connections may need to be inspected or changed.
Forked cable lugs are used in applications where there are lower levels of vibration, because they cannot handle the same levels of vibration that a cable lug with a ring terminal can, which means they are more suitable for use on general electrical equipment, circuit breakers and control panels.
