A pneumatic torque screwdriver is also known as an 'air powered torque screwdriver' or 'air screwdriver', and is powered by compressed air to deliver high levels of repeatable torque, to tighten screws and other small fasteners.
Air torque screwdrivers stop applying torque to the screw when the preset torque value has been delivered, to prevent overtightening and also ensure consistent fastening across repeated cycles.
