Ratchet Screwdrivers
A ratchet screwdriver is a hand tool that is also be known as a 'ratcheting screwdriver'. It has a mechanism that allows for a continuous turning motion in one direction, whilst rotating freely in the other direction, which enables the operator to fasten/unfasten screws without having to remove the tool from the screw.
Ratchet screwdrivers can be operated in 'fastening' and 'unfastening' modes, but many also have a 'neutral mode', which allows the tool to work entirely like a static hand held screwdriver.
Ratchet screwdrivers are widely used by DIYers, electricians, joiners and electronics technicians, as well as anyone that is screwing screws for prolonged periods of time.
