VDE Insulated Extension Bars
A VDE extension bar is insulated and designed to protect the operator when working on equipment that has an electrical current up to 1000 volts running through it.
VDE extension bars have two coatings on them, an outer layer (red or orange), which shows that the tool is fully insulated. If damaged it will then show the colour of the inner layer (yellow), highlighting to the operator that the tool is not fully insulated against electrical currents.
