Bootlace Ferrules

A bootlace ferrule is a wire connector that is also known as a 'cable end sleeve' and is a small metal sleeve that is crimped onto the stripped end of a stranded electrical conductor. It holds the individual wire strands together so the cable can be inserted cleanly into a terminal block, connector or equipment terminal without the strands splaying.

Bootlace ferrules are available in insulated and uninsulated versions, as well as twin ferrules for terminating two conductors together in one sleeve.

They are commonly used by electricians, panel builders and control engineers when terminating stranded cables in control panels, switchgear, terminal blocks and electrical equipment. By keeping the wire strands contained, bootlace ferrules help create a neat, secure connection and reduce the risk of loose strands causing poor contact or short circuits.
