Preset Torque Wrenches

A preset torque wrench is a precision torque tool that that is designed to apply a specific, pre-set amount of torque to a fastener, such as a nut or bolt. The torque on a preset torque wrench is either factory calibrated or calibrated by an operator with the correct tooling, which prevents tampering and ensures consistency and accuracy in applications where the same torque value must be applied repeatedly.

When the preset torque value is reached, the torque wrench will click, or slip, depending on whether it is a clicking torque wrench or slipping torque wrench, to signal that no further force should be applied to the fastener.

Preset torque wrenches are used on assembly lines, in manufacturing environments, in the aerospace and automotive production and maintenance sectors, as well as anywhere else where standardisation of torque application is essential.
