Screw Extractors

A screw extractor is a specialist removal tool used to remove damaged, rounded, stripped, snapped or seized screws, bolts and studs that cannot be removed with a standard screwdriver, driver bit or socket.

Screw extractors are typically made from hardened steel and feature a reverse-threaded or spiral design that bites into the damaged fastener as it is turned.

To use a screw extractor, a pilot hole is usually drilled into the centre of the damaged screw, bolt or stud. The correct size screw extractor is then inserted and turned anti-clockwise until it grips and removes the fastener.

Screw extractors are commonly used in automotive repair, engineering, construction, maintenance and DIY applications where damaged, seized or stuck fasteners need to be removed.
