Sanding Sheets
A sanding sheet is also known as 'sandpaper' and is an abrasive accessory used to remove material, smooth surfaces and prepare workpieces before finishing, coating or bonding. Sanding sheets can be used on materials such as wood, plastic, metal, paint, filler and composites.
Sanding sheets have a flexible backing material and are commonly used by hand, wrapped around a sanding block or fitted to a compatible sanding tool, depending on the size and backing style of the sheet.
Sandpaper is available in various sizes, grit grades and abrasive materials, such as aluminium oxide, silicon carbide and ceramic, to suit different tasks. Lower grit numbers are coarser and are used for faster material removal, while higher grit numbers are finer and are used for smoothing, blending and final preparation.
Sanding sheets are widely used by woodworkers, painters and decorators, body shop technicians, metal fabricators and DIYers.
