Pneumatic Crimp Tools
A pneumatic crimp tool is also known as an 'air powered crimp tool' and uses compressed air to crimp connectors, such as cable lugs, onto cables.
Pneumatic crimp tools are ideal for heavy duty applications, where high levels of pressure is required to create a larger crimp, such as installing large cable lugs on high voltage equipment or heavy gauge wires, or when their is high volume crimping work to be carried out, such as on a production line.
Pneumatic crimping tools are often controlled by a hand or foot pedal, which controls the air flow into the tool and reduces fatigue because less physical effort is required to complete a crimp. This is one of the reasons why these tools are widely used in sectors where there is high levels of crimping work completed on a daily basis, such as the defence, aerospace, automotive and telecommunications sectors.
