A hydraulic crimping tool uses pressurised hydraulic fluid to apply high levels of force onto a crimping die, to compress and deform cable connectors on to cables securely, so that they form a permanent mechanical and electrical bond.
Hydraulic crimping tools use a hydraulic pump to create the high levels of pressure required, which is higher than any other type of crimping tool, and they are used for jobs such as installing hydraulic hoses on heavy machinery, as well as installing large cable lugs on high voltage equipment and heavy gauge wires.
