Batteries

Rechargeable batteries are used to supply electricity to cordless power tools.

Most modern power tools use lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries because they offer high energy density, whilst being light weight.

The operator should choose a battery based on the manufacturer, as well as compatability with the power tool that is being used. In addition, look at the voltage (V), which indicates the power level the battery can deliver, whilst amp-hours (Ah) determines how long the battery can run before it needs to be recharged.
