Combination Spanners
A combination spanner is a hand tool that is also known as a ‘combination wrench’ and is a double-ended spanner, with one side being open-ended and the other being a ring-end, but both sides grip to the same sized fastener.
The open-end is a U-shaped spanner that grips the sides of a fastener, making it ideal for use in tight spaces, whereas the ring end is designed to grip the fastener from all sides and provides more grip to remove stubborn nuts and bolts.
Combination spanners are used by mechanics for jobs such as loosening bolts in tight engine bays, but they are also widely used by electricians, maintenance engineers, construction workers and DIYers.
