Tommy Bars
A tommy bar is a short, cylindrical length of steel that is designed to be placed through a box spanner to create leverage against a fastener. However tommy bars can be used on any tool where there is a hole and leverage is needed to be created, such as tightening power tool chucks.
Tommy bars are used by mechanics to loosen and tighten fasteners (with a box spanner) in hard to reach areas around a vehicle, machinists when needing to turn the jaws on a lathe and by construction workers who are looking to align holes in steel work.
