Pincers
A pincer is a specialised hand tool that is designed primarily for gripping, cutting and pulling, and is characterised by two opposing jaws and long handles that act as a lever to amplify force. Pincers are distinctive for their curved, claw like jaws that converge at the tip, allowing the tool to get close to a surface for precise extraction and manipulation.
Pincers combine features of gripping, pinching and pulling tools, and many models also incorporate hardened cutting edges for trimming wires or nails. They are ideal for tasks such as extracting nails, staples or rivets, pinching and bending small metal elements, cutting softer materials and removing embedded fasteners with minimal damage to the surrounding surface.
Used by carpenters, builders, upholsterers and mechanics, pincers are essential for precision work in woodworking, general maintenance, restoration and other trades where controlled removal and manipulation of fasteners and materials are required.
