Mirka Sanding Discs
Mirka sanding discs are abrasive accessories designed to remove material, smooth surfaces and prepare workpieces before painting, coating, polishing or bonding. Depending on the abrasive type and grit selected, they can be used on materials such as wood, paint, lacquer, metal, plastic, filler, plaster and composite materials.
Mirka sanding discs are available in a broad range of grit sizes and are manufactured using abrasive grains such as aluminium oxide, silicon carbide, ceramic and zirconium oxide, while constructions include paper, film, foam and net products, with the majority of discs attaching to compatible backing pads using either a grip-style hook-and-loop system or pressure-sensitive adhesive.
Well-known Mirka sanding-disc ranges include Gold, Iridium, Galaxy, Abralon and Abranet. Coarser grits are used for rapid material removal, while finer grits are suitable for smoothing, blending and finishing.
