Sarah is a vital part of the Heamar family and our Internal Sales Team. Sarah oversees the entire purchase ordering process, ensuring all orders are placed on time, orders are confirmed and system delivery dates are updated. Her responsibilities also cover replenishing stock and ensuring purchasing data and pricing is accurate and up to date on our internal system.
Having joined Heamar in April 2017 after coming from a very different career background, Sarah has thrived ever since, tackling a plethora of delivery notes and sales orders every day!
We asked Sarah about her experiences so far working at Heamar.
What is your career background?
I spent the last 16 years working in a retail bank, this job is very much a welcome change for me!
What is your role at Heamar?
Internal sales - I key the account incoming sales orders and purchase the goods.
How would your colleagues describe you?
I would like to say “hard working”, but probably slightly “mental” at the same time!
What do you love most about Heamar?
That it feels like a family and you aren’t just treated like a number. You feel like everyone here has your back.
What has been your biggest challenge at Heamar from the past year?
Early doors, going very much into unknown territory and not knowing if I would be up to the challenge of starting a completely new career path. Fortunately for me it appears to be going well!
What has given you the most job satisfaction whilst working here?
Being able to easily slot in with my colleagues, strengthening relationships with my customers and suppliers, and knowing I made completely the right choice in changing career paths.
What is your favourite food?
Anything home cooked or authentic, I do love a pie though.
Do you have a special talent?
I'm very good at nagging, just ask my husband!
What is your favourite TV show?
I love a bit of James Martin on a Saturday morning.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I am a big fan of both music and cooking, so going to concerts and cooking up a storm in the kitchen!
Finally, what do you think the best product we sell is and why?
I would say the HE bands, as since we have become AS 9120 accredited, it means we can now sell our own bands that can go on an aircraft.
